Sourdough Sessions FAQs
Here are some of the most frequently asked questions. If your question is not answered by this FAQ, please contact us. Your question might be the same as others, and we would love to put it on the FAQ wall. Thanks for supporting our journey - We are thankful you are here!
What Is A Cottage Bakery?
According to the Texas Cottage Food Laws, the State of Texas allows individuals to operate a food business from their primary residence. Our bakery is a small business that prepares and sells foods, such as baked goods, from a home kitchen rather than a commercial establishment.
How Do Porch Pick-ups Work?
When you place your order, you will choose a pickup window. You can come at any time during your pickup window. After you complete your order, you will be given our address. When you arrive at our home, please knock on our door. Your order is inside with us, and we are so excited to meet you.
Do you offer delivery?
We are working on delivery drops. For example, we have requests to add stops for Sun City, Berry Creek, Round Rock, and Hutto. If you live in those areas, let us know. Once we have enough people requesting a delivery drop in one of those areas, we will coordinate a location.
We forgot to order. Do you have anything left?
We understand that life gets busy, and occasionally we have a few extra goodies. Text us as soon as you realize you missed the deadline to improve your chances of snagging an extra.
What if I am going to be late for pickup?
Please, contact us as soon as possible; you can text, call, email, or chat on Hotplate. In most cases, we can make other arrangements.
-
For any goods left overnight, we reserve the right to donate your order to our local fire department. Our bakes do not contain any preservatives, so they need to find a hungry belly to feed.
How Do Weekly Pre-Orders Work?
Each week, we bake, we will post a "Sourdough Session" menu. Once the menu opens, you can place your order for the week. This is the basic timeline that we use for our sourdough session sales:
-
Weekly Menu posted on Sat or Sun
-
Pre-orders Open, Sunday Afternoon
-
Pre-orders Close, Thursday Afternoon
-
Pick up your order on the pick-up day.
*With the new law, SB 541, going into effect Sept 1st, 2025. We are planning to introduce new meal menus for our cottage bakery. We are also looking forward to building wholesale partnerships within our community.
What are Sourdough Sessions? How do I know when you are baking?
We call our menu drops Sourdough Sessions because our Mom finds working with dough super relaxing. She says there is nothing like handling 10, 15, or 20 pounds of dough. Yes, we know exactly how weird that sounds.

Can I place a large order? Do you make custom flavors?
Yes, absolutely! Thank you for considering us! Please text me at (737) 314-3012, and we can discuss your needs.
Can I Freeze Sourdough Bread?
Absolutely! In our opinion, the best way to freeze is to slice your loaf, separate the slices with parchment paper, and then store it in a freezer ziplock bag. You can freeze a whole loaf; just beware that thawing is required and takes a good amount of time for an entire loaf.
-
Individual slices can be popped in the toaster to refresh them.
-
A whole loaf is best left out to thaw, and then in the oven for a re-heat at 400°F for 15-20 min directly on the oven rack.
I missed my pickup, can I get a refund?
All of our items are naturally leavened and long fermented. This means all items are made to order and take 2-3 days to produce. No refunds will be granted for goods not claimed after ordering.
