About G6 Sourdough…
G6 Sourdough is a faith-rooted, family-run cottage bakery nestled in the Katy Crossing neighborhood of beautiful Georgetown, Texas.
Run by the Getschmann family - a homeschooling family of six - every loaf, cookie, and class is an opportunity to build something meaningful: nutritious food, entrepreneurial skills, and community connection.
We believe that knowledge is power, ingredients are important, and everyone should know how to make a loaf of sourdough!

Our Story…
This road has been anything but ordinary; we have both succeeded and failed along this journey. We are so, so blessed and thankful to God; He is always with us and always a loving father.
We are a homeschool family who started a few months into covid. The schools barely functioned; zero schedule and no communication! Like having four kids at home full-time wasn’t already exhausting. We ended up walking away from public school a few weeks after our ISD transitioned to online learning. who created G6 Sourdough, a cottage bakery born out of both faith and purpose. What began as a way to feed our neighbors has grown into a hands-on classroom for our children, teaching them entrepreneurship, responsibility, and essential life skills like baking, accounting, and customer service.
Every single order offers our kids an invaluable opportunity to learn and grow. From grinding grain to folding dough, they’ve experienced the joys and challenges of running a cottage bakery.
Along the way, they will cultivate a strong work ethic, develop their creativity, and discover the satisfaction of serving others well. We count it a blessing to watch this dream become reality.
Most of all, we are deeply grateful for our customers' loyal support. You aren’t just buying bread—you’re helping shape the next generation with lessons that will last a lifetime.
G6 Sourdough is a charming, family-run cottage bakery nestled in the heart of Katy Crossing, Georgetown, Texas. From our starter to your table, every loaf is handmade with care, community, and love.
